WIAA State Final Four Appearances 2 or more
Division 1 schools have three levels of play at the WIAA State Tournament, quarter finals, semi-finals and finals. Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5 have a semi-final and final. Division 1 schools often play two or three fewer games to get the state tournament than do D-2, D-3, D-4 and D-5 schools. For many D-2, D-3, D-5 and D-5 schools the state semi-final games are the sixth games they have had to play during WIAA tournament play. For most D-1 schools the quarterfinal games are just their fourth tournament game. When comparing coaches for induction into the WFSCA Hall of Fame, just listing state tournament appearances is not a fair comparison when considering a coach from D-2,3, 4 or D5 to a coach in D-1. Losing at the quarter final level of the state tournament is the same as losing a D-2, D-3, D-4 or D-5 sectional semi-final or sectional final game. This newly created category by The Fastpitch Chronicle levels the playing field when considering state tournament success. The Final Four is the best comparison to use. Send updates to faspich1@gmail.com with and include the years that a Final Four appearance was achieved.

The Fastpitch Chronicle Coaches Honor Roll Page is dedicated to the memory of longtime Middleton assistant coach Jerry Haugen.
Listed on this page are the coaches who have achieved milestones in terms of the number of victories their varsity teams have won, number of conference championships won, sectional championships and state championships and runner-up finishes. To add a coach to the list, e-mail the information to us at faspich1@aol.com.
We are also interested in honoring coaches who coach at the JV level or freshman level. They are important too and should be recognized. Send information via e-mail and we'll create a category for them.
