Sophomore pitcher Kayla Schwebke struck out 19 North Fondy batters but she didn't strike out Brooke Scott in her fourth inning at bat. Scott took a Schwebke slant over the fence for a solo homer and that was enough as North Fondy pitcher Janice Schwerskinkse held off Laconia who had a runner thrown out trying to steal third that was followed by a double.
Laconia dropped from the unbeaten ranks with the loss.
