Trailing 3-0, Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored six runs in the fifth inning and scored one more run in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 6-6 tie for a 7-6 victory over Iola-Scandinavia. The loss drops the T-Birds conference record to 9-2 and 10-5 overall. The Chargers improved their conference record to 7-3 and overall record to 11-5-1.
Pitcher Julia Munoz pitched 6 2/3 innings in taking the loss. Munoz allowed nine hits, three walks and struck out 12 batters. The Thunderbird defense struggled to make plays and committed two errors in the game.
Brooklyn Berrens, Brylee Jueds and Maya Munoz each had two hits for the T-Birds. Berrens had two doubles and one RBI. Jueds had a two-out bases loaded double that scored three runs to tie the game 6-6 in the sixth inning. Jueds finished with four RBI's.
