Final was 10-0 in Six Innings

Westosha Central improved to 1-0 in the Southern Lakes Conference and 1-2 overall with a 10-0 6 inning win over Elkhorn in Paddock Lake. Alyssa Hrncar earned her first win of the season by allowing only 2 hits and striking out 7. "Alyssa did a great job of fighting the elements. She really controlled the
pace today” (co-head coach Tom Lampe) Several Falcons contributed to a much improved offense. The Falcons came out swinging early. Jenna Kontaxis led off
with a single and was moved to second on an Alyssa Hrncar single. They wereboth plated by Kayla Konwent’s 3rd home run of the season; a shot to left field. The Falcons added another run when Kira Mickelson followed Konwent’s blast with a triple and was scored on Olivia Klean’s single. The Falcons added two runs in the second, one in the 4th and two in the 6th to close the game. But it was the defense that took over from there. Twice in the 2nd inning the Falcons gunned down Elk runners at the plate; including a double steal caught stealing to end
their threat. "For the most part the defense has been solid all season. We have a lot of interchangeable parts and they have adapted to our defensive
schemes well. The big difference tonight was the hitting picked up and Alyssa pitched on heck of a game.” (co head coach Tom Lampe) The Falcons will return to action this Thursday when they travel to Burlington to take on the Demons.
