SHAWANO – New London jumped to an 8-1 lead, then stymied a late Shawano rally to finish its Bay Conference season with a 12-4 record. Ashley Moeller went 2-for-2 and drove in four runs for the Bulldogs, 20-5 overall. Freshman Erin Cerveny hit her second out-of-the-park home run for Shawano, 10-13 overall. Molly O’Connell earned the victory, allowing eight hits over five innings. O’Connell pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth innings, retiring Shawano’s second and third hitters to preserve the lead. Cerveny took the loss, allowing nine hits and two walks over the first 3 2/3 innings.
