Westosha Central split a pair of games today in Stevens Point

Lost to Green Bay Preble and beat Kimberly

Westosha Central went 1-1 at the Stevens Point Quad when the defeated Kimberly 10-2 after falling to Green Bay Preble in the opener 11-1 in 6 innings. 

In the first game, Sam Erber took the loss, going 4 innings, allowing 6 runs on 6 hits.  The Falcon offense was stymied, only collecting 4 hits, two by Meghan Lampos, and one each by Lila McNeill and Maya Gagliardi.  The Hornets scored twice in the each of the first two innings.  In both cases, Katie Geydoshek inflicted big hits including a two run triple in the 2nd.  The Falcons did rally for a run in the 3rd when McNeill singled, stole second and scored on a single by Gagliardi.  But Preble put the game away in the 6th, scoring 5 runs of Addie Feekes.  The last two were a walk-off home run by Tenley Keuhn. 

In game two Westosha Central's bats came to life for 14 hits, including two home runs.  They plated 5 in the first inning, highlighted by a three run homer by Alex McKinney.  Maya Swanson plated the other two runs when her single brought home both Allie Loucas and Mia Kozak.  The Falcons added two more runs in the 2nd when McNeill scored on an error and Gagliardi was batted in by Erber.  The Papermakers scored their first run off Lampos in the 3rd.  Sophie Hermus singled, scoring Addie Parish who had doubled.  The Falcons got the run right back on a home run by Kozak.  Two triples in the 4th (by McNeill and McKinney) led to two more runs in the 4th and Kimberly added their final run in the 5th when Navaho Honick singled in Hermus.  Meg Lampos earned the complete game win, allowing 2 runs (both earned) on 4 hits while striking out 15.  "We gave Preble too many chances and didn't respond well when we were challenged," said Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe."However,  we came back and played a really great second game.  It was a good experience and we plan to grow into a better team."

With the split the Falcons are 6-0 in the SLC and 8-1 overall.  They return to action on Monday when they host Lake Geneva Badger in a conference matchup.
