Marshall's Steindorf hits seventh inning homer to beat Poynette 1-0

Marshall 1, Poynette 0

Marshall tipped Poynette this afternoon at Diamond of Champions in Poynette when Jessie Steindorf hit a two-out solo home run in the top of the seventh. Morgan Hendricks then held off a Poynette rally in the bottom of the inning to preserve the win. Steindorf went 4x4 with a double in there too. Poynette pitcher Jordan Blochwitz scattered six hits, fanned seven in taking the loss. Hendricks got the win, limiting the Pumas to just three singles, walked none and struck out six. Poynette had just four base runners in the entire game.

Whitnall Pitcher twirls no-hitter vs Shorewood today
Sarah Bauer threw a 5-inning no-hitter today against Shorewood striking out 7 and walking none.

Union Grove 4. Burlington 0
Union Grove sophomore hurler Brittany Moore twirled a gem tonight no-hitting a very good Burlington team while striking out nine and walking one.  The Broncos defense was very strong behind her making several big plays to keep the Demons from mounting much of a threat and giving themselves some time to get the sticks going.  Coach Boylen had this to say about Moore's performance tonight, "she's been lights out for us ever since I handed her the ball.  Tonight was no exception, she moves the ball well and changes speeds so well that it's a chore to hit against her."

New London 1, Shawano 0
At Shawano, New London scored an unearned run in the first and held on for a 1-0 victory.  Shawano’s best scoring threat came in the bottom of the seventh, when Alli Raddant singled and Saige Henning’s drive over the leftfield fence hooked just outside the foul pole.  Shelby Sommer earned the victory, allowing just one hit in six innings.  Molly O’Connell worked the seventh to earn the save.  Courtney Baumann took the hard-luck loss for Shawano, allowing f
ive hits.
