Westosha Central used an 11 hit attack to defeat county rival Wilmot 9-1 in Paddock Lake.
Sam Erber earned the win with a complete game effort, striking out 6 and allowing 6 hits. The Panthers opened the scoring in the 1st inning. Macy Platts led off with a triple and scored on a single by Sarah Jasko. But that was all Wilmot would score and Westosha Central responded in their half of the inning . Lila McNeill walked, stole second and third and scored on an error. Maya Gagliardi also walked and scored on a double by Alex McKinney.
The Falcons added two more in the 2nd. Mia Kozak singled and scored on a McNeill single. An error put McNeill at 3rd where she scored on a Gagliardi single.
The Falcons added three more in the 3rd. McKinney reached on an error and scored on a single by Allie Loucas. She scored on a single by Kozak, who was plated by Emma Smith. A triple by McNeill scored Smith. The Falcons final run came In the 6th when McNeil singled, reached third base on errors and scored on a suicide squeeze by Gagliardi. "We were fundamentally sound today.
"Sam was great in the circle and we did a great job defensively," said Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe. "We are trending in the right direction and hope to continue in that direction."
With the win the Falcons improved to 9-1 in the SLC and 13-2 overall. They return to action on Friday when they travel to Wilmot to take on the Panthers.
