Pepin/Alma takes down Elmwood/Plum City on three-run walk off homer by Olivia Rotering

Arcadia 4, Westby 0, Wins second game too, remains unbeaten
Arcadia's Taylor Haines remained hot in the circle even on a cold, windy afternoon in Westby. In the first game of a twinbill Haines twirled a one-hitter using a combination of ups and downs to take Westby down on strikes 13 times. Haines provided all the offensive punch she would need with towering blast over the fence in dead left field in the third inning. Arcadia garned just six hits of their own including two doubles by their first sacker. Three of the four runs for Westby were unearned.

Junior 1st Baseman Olivia Rotering sent the crowd home smiling at Haines Field tonight with a walk off 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7th that broke the 1-1 tie with Elmwood and gave the Eagles the victory. After lead off hitter Andi Terpstra lead off with a single in the bottom of the 7th senior Tana Prokosch followed up with a bunt single up the 1st baseline, Cori Terpstra moved them to 2nd and 3rd and the stage was set for the red hot Olivia Rotering. She took the 2-1 offering over the left field fence in walk off fashion that would have made Breanna Ellison proud and the Eagles posted another conference victory!

Union Grove 2, Delavan-Darien 0
We found ourselves in an old fashioned pitchers duel tonight against Delevan Darien and came out on top 2-0.  The Broncos plated 1 run in the first on a leadoff walk, a passed ball, a stolen base and groundout to 2nd and another in the sixth on a leadoff error, a sacrifice bunt, a wild pitch and a groundout to short.  In total the Broncos plated two runs on two hits but they wouldn't need much as Sophomore Allie Trudeau scattered three hits while striking out 10 and walking none to shutout Delevan.

Whitnall 12 , New Berlin Eisenhower 2
Word has it that Ike's Katie Schlegel did not pitch due to an injury

Whitnall used an 8-run first inning and rode that to a 12-2 victory over New Berlin Eisenhower. The Falcons scored 6 times with 2 outs in that first frame. The big blow was a grand slam
by Lara Stachowski, the freshman's third HR of the year.
Whitnall added single runs in the second and third innings, andended the game on a long 2-run home run by Liz Thon in the
bottom of the sixth inning. Steffi Lombardo took the loss for Eisenhower giving up 9 runs in 2 innings pitched.

Ike mounted a small rally in the fourth inning when the first two batters of the inning reached on a walk and a bunt single. Andrea Leder and Riley Rossbach then sandwiched RBI singles around a pop out. Pitcher Alex Cimler would then strikeout the next two batters to end the threat. Cimler got the win going 6
innings, scattering 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. Whitnall improves to 18-3 on the season. Eisenhower falls to 15-4.

Westosha Central 11, Lake Geneva Badger 1
The Westosha Central softball team used a 10 run 3rd inning to defeat Lake Geneva Badger 11-1 in 5 innings in Lake Geneva last night.  Olivia Klean earned the win by allowing 1 run (earned) on 5 hits.  She struck out 1 while walking 3.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, the Falcons struck.  Alyssa Hrncar (2 runs and 2 hits) led off with a single.  After Taylor Bergles reached on an error and an intentional walk to Kayla Konwent loaded the bases, Larkin Langston plated 2 on a single to left.  “Larkin has really stepped it up for us,” said Head Coach Tom Lampe. “Teams have been trying to pitch around Kayla and she (Langston) has been making them pay. That was what we envisioned when we put her in that spot.”
Once the Falcons put runs on the board it kept going.  Hailey Jester followed with an RBI single which was followed by RBI hit by Julia Jester, Alyssa Hrncar and Taylor Bergles.  The inning was capped by a two-run home run by Konwent (her 9th of the year).  “She never ceases to amaze me,” said Lampe. “She is so good about staying within herself.  It can be hard when people avoid you with intentional walks. But she constantly takes advantage of the opportunities she is given.  She is a special player.”
The Falcons added another run in the 4th on a single by Hailey Jester and an RBI ground out by Haley Spoerl. With the win the Falcons move to 10-0 in the Southern Lakes.  They can clinch a tie for the conference title tomorrow when they host Waterford for a 4:00 start.
