Home runs highlight today's action

Wednesday Score - Westosha Central 14, Waterford 5

Westosha Central rode three home runs en route to a 14-5 victory at Waterford last night.  The Falcons exploded for six runs in the second inning, highlighted by a Kayla Konwent grand slam on a shot to right field.  They ended the night with two home runs by Larkin Langston, a solo shot in the sixth to left and a three-run shot in the seventh to left.  Taylor Bergles added four hits including two doubles to right center in the Falcon 16-hit attack.  “The wind was blowing out and both teams put good swings on the ball,” said co head coach Tom Lampe.  “It was the veterans that propelled the Falcons offense on the night.  Haley Spoerl added two hits as did Hailey Jester,” added Lampe.  “It was a great night to get our veteran players involved.  They really carried us tonight.  Hopefully we are getting back into that offensive groove.” 
 
Alyssa Hrncar earned the win the circle, going all seven innings.  She allowed five runs, all earned on seven hits with seven strike outs.  “Alyssa did what she needed to do.  She had a lead and threw strikes,” said Lampe.
 
With the win the Falcons improved to 8-0 in the Southern Lakes Conference and 14-3 overall.  They host Wilmot this Saturday at 10:00 AM.

Arcadia 5, LaCrosse Central 0
Arcadia, ranked #1 in Division 3 beat LaCrosse Central today 5-0 with single runs in the first, fourth and fifth and two in the seventh. Taylor Haines picked up the win allowing just four hits, walking two and striking out nine.

Denmark 7, Shawano 2
At Shawano, Denmark scored three runs in the first and never looked back, defeating the Hawks 7-2.  Shawano scored two in the first on LaRissa O’Kimosh’s single, but had just three hits in the final six innings. Rachel Lemke earned the victory for Denmark; Brooke Giltner had three hits for the Vikings.

McFarland 12, Lakeside Lutheran 2
McFarland played in Lake Mills today against the Warriors of the Capitol North. A six-inning seventh highlighted by a three-run shot off the bat of Danielle Halvorsen really put the game away. The winners collected 13 hits off Warrior pitching including a first inning homer by Lexi Kemnitzer.

Kenosha Bradford upsets Racine Case, 5-2
A four-run second inning propelled Kenosha Bradford past Racine Case today. Ellie Bernero scattered seven hits, walked three and struck out four to get the win. Jenna Bonofiglio and Erin Brewer each had two hits for Bradford. Sammy Ramos had a pair of rbi.

Union Grove 6, Lake Geneva Badger 0
Sophomores Brittany Moore and Allie Trudeau combined for a 18 strikeout no-hit performance tonight and the Broncos showed off some of their power bats as they launched 3 homeruns and 2 doubles out of their 7 hits on the night.  The Broncos, struggling to find holes lately, figured out that sometimes when everything you hit is right at someone that you just need to hit it where they can't go.  


Iola-Scandinavia takes two from Weyauwega-Fremont
In a game between teams with two community names. Iola-Scandinavia upset Weyauwega Fremont twice today. The scores were 3-2 and 11-2.
