Renate Meckl, Oconomowoc, named Fastpitch Chronicle's Top Catcher for 2013

Batted .573 with 14 extra base hits and 38 rbi

Oconomowoc catcher Renate Meckl has been named the top catcher in the state by The Fastpitch Chronicle. She receives a Fastpitch Chronicle Award Certificate for the honor.

Meckl, a recent graduate of Ocononmowoc batted .573 during the 2013 campaign. She collected 14 extra base hits including six doubles, four triples and four home run. She collected 38 rbi along with scoring 37 runs. She struck out just five times during the 21 games her team played this season. Her work behind the plate shined as well where she fielded at .983 clip and threw out 10 of 15 would-be base stealers and picked off three runners.

Meckl went 3x6 with a double at during the two senior all star games in Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday.

She will be attending and playing softball at the University of Tennessee-Martin.
