Triple Play in Big 8 Action
The Sun Prairie Cardinals completed a triple play in their game against the Madison West Regents on April Thursday 7th.
The situation started with West runners on the corners. There was a flyball hit to left fielder Jada Ward, who caught the fly ball for the first out, then her subsequent throw to the plate was right online to catcher Erin Vertz who retired the runner who had tagged at third. Then Vertz stood up and fired a strike to second sacker Callie Ziegler at the bag at second, retiring the runner who was at first attempting to make it to second base.
Sun Prairie won the game 19 to 1.
All three girls have been sent a Fastpitch Chronicle Triple Play Certificate.
