Westosha Central used three three- run innings late in the game to defeat Kenosha  Tremper 10-5 in Kenosha.

Olivia Klean earned the complete game victory, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits while striking out 4.  “Olivia gave us just what we needed tonight,” said Tom Lampe, Co-Head Coach.  “ She kept the ball in play and let her defense play behind her.”

The Falcons opened the scoring when Kira Mickelson singled in Kayla Konwent.  The Trojans took the lead in the bottom half of the frame.  With two on and one out, Amari Whittington singled to center scoring Alyssa Laci and Emilee Nelson.  Tremper added to their lead in the 3rd when Aniya Whittington added another two runs (Nelson and Amari Whittington) with another single to center.  It looked like the Trojans were pulling away when Maria McGonegle hit a one out fastball out to left for a home run in the 4th inning.

However,  that is when the Falcons came to life.  Alyssa Hrncar reached on an error and scored when Kayla Konwent doubled to right center.  Chyanne Onstad (4 x5) then doubled to center to score courtesy runner Sarai Roberts.  Onstad then scored on an Elaine Andersen single.  Westosha Central took the lead for good in the sixth.  Julia Jester led off with a double.  Jenna Kontaxis reached on an error and Jester scored on the play.  Hrncar also reached on an error putting runners on 1st and 3rd.  Onstad delivered again plating Kontaxis with the eventual winning run.  Mickelson then scored Hrncar with an insurance run.  Not standing pat, the Falcons added three more in the seventh.  Jester again led the rally with a lead off single.  She reached third on a Kontaxis single.  Hrncar was able to single to load the bases.  Konwent walked to bring in a run and Mickelson added two more runs with a single to right center.  That was all Klean needed to put down the side in order and secure the win.

“That was a nice response after last night’s game,” said Lampe. “ We swung the bats well and played our consistent defense.  If we can continue to do this we will be fine

With the win the Falcons improved to 21-3 overall.  They will travel to Burlington for their final conference game of the season tomorrow night.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:30.
