SPARTANS MAINTAIN LEAD IN BAY CONFERNECE

Luxemburg-Casco held onto first place in the Bay Conference with a 5-1 win in New London.  In a game which featured the states 5th(LC) and 6th(NL) ranked division 2 teams in the state.  Winning pitcher Sara Simonar threw a complete game surrendering only the one earned run which New London scored with two out in the bottom of the seventh after LC had built a five run lead.  Simonar also aided her own pitching effort by going 2x3 at the plate with two home runs and three RBI.  Alex Dorner also contributed a home run and two RBI.  New London threatened in the bottom of the seventh with a two out single and RBI double.  The threat ended there on a infield putout to end the game.  LC is 16-3(12-1)   New London is 17-4(9-3)
