Monroe, Fort Atkinson head the list, new coaches at Monona Grove and Stoughton

A Look Ahead to 2014

Monroe- The Cheesemaker’s (12-0) won their first Conference Championship since 2009 and will return a veteran team to defend their title.  Seniors and first team all conference selections Taylor O'Leksy (OF), Chandra McGuire (C) , Kayla Updike (INF), and Ellie Grossen (INF) will lead the charge.  The team will look to replace all conference selection and four year starting pitcher, Becca Armstrong.  Hall of Fame coach, Dale Buvid has been the Cheesemaker’s head coach for 31 seasons.

 

Fort Atkinson- The Blackhawk’s (9-3) will be returning five starters including three year starters Tiffany Henze (SS) and Bree Brandl (OF).   The team will need to replace first team all conference players including all time career winning pitcher, Kaitlyn Hollman , as well as Aly Gartland (C), and Lauren Pfeifer (1B).   Senior, Hailee Jacobson and Junior, Jesse Boos will both see time at pitching this season.  Jeff Agnew returns for his 21st year as Head Coach..

 

Milton- the Red Hawks (6-5-1) will be returning a veteran lineup in 2014.  First team all conference pitcher and shortstop, senior, Kayla Negus and junior, Maddie McCue (OF) headline the long list of returning players. Head Coach, Mindy Bilhorn will continue to guide the Red Hawks.

 

Stoughton- The Vikings (6-6) will also return an experienced lineup in 2014.  They will need to replace Emily Auby (P) lost to graduation.  Kristin Siget is the Vikings new head coach.

 

Monona Grove- The Silver Eagles (5-6-1) will be returning many starters including sophomore pitcher, Kelsey Stenson. Former Deerfield Head Coach, Barry Witkowski, former Head Coach at Deerfield will guide the Silver Eagles as he replaces Jim Smecko.

 

Madison Edgewood- The Crusaders (2-10) will look to improve in 2014.  Amanda Slater returns as Head Coach.

 

Oregon- The Panthers (1-11) will be young and improved in 2104.  Mike Derrick returns for his 3rd season as Head Coach.
