WFSCA Inducts Three New Members

Wisconsin Dells -- February 21, 2015 - The WFSCA, at their annual coaching clinic and Hall of Fame banquet, inducted three longtime and very successful coaches into its Hall of Fame.

Tim Pederson
Tim Pederson coached at Taylor and Amherst for 29 years accumulating a record of 402-169. In 2013 his teams allowed Tim to surpass the 400 win mark. Tim won seven conference championships, advanced to the WIAA state tournament three times and won the state Division 3 championship in 1999 in the days of three-division softball within the WIAA.


Bob Sulser
Bob Sulser, has been a head coach for 27 years at Madison Memorial and Turner (Beloit). In 2015 his team is likely to boost him over the 400 win mark as he enters the upcoming season with a 394-169 record. Sulser’s 2015 squad will enter the season as one of the state’s highly ranked Division 2 teams. In his career Sulser’s teams have won 11 conference championships, have been to the state tournament five times, the final four five times and finished as the runner-up in the Division 1 state tournament in 2002.

Marv Youngbeck
Marv Youngbeck’s high school coaching career includes 21 seasons in all. He took a few seasons off and then got back into the game, all at Mayville High School. In that time he compiled a 301-137 record including 10 conference championships, four final four appearances and a state championship in Division 2 in 1999 (three divisions then).

Here is a list of all the WFSCA Hall of Fame members. The WFSCA started the HOF program in 2009 when it inducted its first six members. Tory Acheson, former head coach at Whitnall and the original President of the WFSCA, Phil Adam who coaches at Ashwaubenon, Pete Kopplin of Marshfield, Darrell Laschen of Loyal along with Dave and Mary Lou Jones of Platteville who together kept the organization running after Acheson departed the high school ranks to coach at UW Parkside.

In 2010 six coaches were inducted including Greg Lampe of Oak Creek, Bob LeCaptain who coached at Denmark and Green Bay West, John Malin of Kimberly, Russ Schaub of Middleton, Rod Wilterdink of Cedarburg and Bob Tomlinson of Poynette.

In 2011 the inductees were: Jim Haines of Pepin, Steve Ryan of Waunakee, Dianne Yager of D.C. Everest and  Seneca and Steve Schmikla  of McFarland.

The 2012 group consisted of: Kris Allison of Westosha Central, Mike Regner of LaCrosse Central and Del Schneeberger of Johnson Creek  and Fort Atkinson as an assistant.

In 2013 the association inducted Paul Olson of Fort Atkinson, Dale Buvid of Monroe and Jim Turner of Altoona.

 The 2014 class was: Don Vruwink of Milton, Glenda Smith of Tigerton and John Scrhroeder of Beloit Memorial.
