The Fastpitch Chronicle

During the recently completed 2019 WFSCA coaching clinic a committee of volunteers assembled and formulated a list of teams for the Fastpitch Chronicle rankings for 2019.

The mid and late spring weather has many wondering just how soon games will actually get started and having to wait for that to happen would provide less attention to things such as team rankings and a watch list. The committee met several times and surveyed many other coaches in an attempt to rank teams in all five divisions for a Pre-Season Fastpitch Chronicle Ranking.

The Committee decided for the time being, to rank only the #1 team in Divisions 2-3-4-5 while ranking our top 15 schools in Division 1. The watch list and Division 1 rankings are just the first attempt at ranking or listing teams to watch. As committee members get feedback from interested people across the state the Pre-Season lists will change. 

If the readers have information that will help the rankers do pre-season and in-season rankings they are urged to contact Bob at the Fastpitch Chronicle. He will then convey those thoughts to the members. If you are a coach or an umpire and want to be a part of the committee simply contact Bob and he will explain the ranking process. 

The WFSCA does do in season rankings. However, coaches can only rank teams that are in the division of play that their school competes in during postseason, WIAA tournament action. Coaches at schools who play in conferences where there are schools who fall into more than one WIAA division can not rank schools from their conference or even non-conference foes outside their own division of play.
