Westosha Central used a 10 hit attack and another shut out by Alyssa Hrncar to capture their 6th consecutive Southern Lakes Conference title with a 4-0 victory over Delavan tonight. Hrncar allowed only three hits while striking out 11. "She did a great job of moving the ball around. It was a fitting end to her conference career." (co-head coach Tom Lampe) The Falcons opened the scoring in the 2nd. Andrea Edquist led off with a walk and was moved to 2nd on a Danielle Gulliford sacrifice. Sarai Roberts then moved her to third where she scored on a passed ball. They added another run in the 3rd. Olivia Klean led off with a single and reached 2nd on an error in the outfield. She then stole 3rd and scored on a sac fly by Carrie Weis. The final runs of the day came in the 5th inning. Hrncar led off with a single and her courtesy runner, Rylee Johnson moved to 2nd on a Kayla Kerkman single. Kira Mickelson's double plated both with the final runs of the game. From there Hrncar took over in the circle. She retired six of the last seven batters with 4 strike outs. "It was a great way for the seniors to go out. We were really proud of how they performed in this critical game." The Falcons won the SLC with a 13-1 record. Their overall record is 19-4. They travel to Kenosha tomorrow to take on Bradford.
