Westosha Central dropped its second game of the season, losing a close game to host Kaukauna 3-1 on Saturday. Haley Hestekin earned the victory, firing a one-hitter and striking out 9 Falcons. Alyssa Hrncar was the hard-luck loser, allowing only one earned run and allowing 7 Ghost hits. The game was scoreless through the first two innings when Kaukauna scored in the top of the 3rd. Aubrey Blair led off with a walk and a passed ball put her pinch runner, Brittany Handrich on 2nd. With one out, Racehl Ashauer doubled to right center, scoring Handrich. The Falcons were able to respond in their half of the 4th. Kayla Kerkman led off with a single and moved to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by Olivia Klean. She scored when Olivia Kazumura's grounder was misplayed. The Ghosts were able to plate two in the 6th inning with two out. Hannah Hestekin reached on an error and Leah Binsfeld walked. Blair then hit a hard drive to right center for a triple. That was all the runs Hestekin would need. She retired the next six Westosha batters to end the game. "Alyssa did a great job of keeping us in the game and the defense behind her was very good. We just couldn't get anything consistently going on offense. Give them credit, they did a very good job of keeping us off balance," said Westosha Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe.  With the loss, the Falcons drop to 15-2 on the season. They return to action this Tuesday when they host Waterford in a SLC match up.

"We did find out some things about ourselves today,"said the coach.  "We disome things very well and we know where we have to improve. I am positive the team will step up to the challenge."
