Chequamegon 20, Prentice 2
Ally Derr's two-run triple jump-started the Chequamegon High School softball team's offense in a 20-2 victory over visiting Prentice in the Marawood North Conference opener for the Screaming Eagles on Tuesday, April 11, at the Park Falls Athletic Complex.
Chequamegon allowed two unearned runs in the first inning and Derr's triple drew the Screaming Eagles even as sparked a seven-run second. Derr drilled an RBI double in Chequamegon's six-run third innings.
Mackenzie Dane had an inside-the-park homer to highlight a seven-run fourth for Chequamegon. Dane worked the first four innings, allowing no earned runs, five hits and one walk while fanning five.
Hannah Borne had two hits for Chequamegon.
