Led by a 24-hit attack Poynette upped its season record to 8-0 and conference record to 3-0 with a win today over Lodi.

"It was just one of those days where one team pitched it and the other team hit it where there were no defenders to record outs," said Poynette Head Coach Bob Tomlinson. "We've been on the other end of that deal throughout the years as well including one last year and we were still able to survive and play in the state tournament. Lodi does have some nice players."

Mattie Bredeson notched the win in three innings of work with eight strikeouts and one hit allowed. Freshman Casey Fountain tossed the fourth innign walking one and fanning a pair while sophomore pitcher Ashley Hellenbrand twirled the fifth in a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts.

Haley Radewan doubled three times and went 4x5 while Maegan Brookins doubled twice and went 4x5; Brooke Dredske doubled twice and went 3x4; Hellenbrand went 3x4 with a two-run home run; Bredeson helped herself out with a 3x3 night including a two-run triple; Makaya Sorge doubled and homered in a 3x5 day while Heather Kimberly went 2x4 with a double out of the nine hole.

The Pumas are now 8-0 and play at Lake Mills tomorrow and host Cambridge on Thursday.
