On Friday and Saturday the Luxemburg-Casco Softball Team competed in the 30th Annual Poynette Softball Jamboree where they took on three top ten ranked teams; #1 LaCrosse Logan, #8 Beloit Turner and #10 River Valley.
Versus division two defending state champion and #1 ranked LaCrosse Logan the Spartans were tied at zero entering the fifth inning but eventually fell 3-0. Pitcher Emily Schiltz threw a complete game and allowed four hits and one earned run. In their second game of the weekend LC took on #8 Beloit Turner and won 12-2. Emily Schiltz was again the pitcher of recorded, pitching the first four innings of the game and surrendered three hits and no runs. Taylor Cravillion, Dana Deteville, Mackie Junio and Cassie Dart had multiple hits in the game. Game three versus #10 River Valley resulted in a 3-1 Spartan victory. Winner pitcher Ally Dart threw a complete game allowing one earned run. LC scored all of its runs in the sixth inning on consecutive hits by Cassie Dart, Madysen Thayes, Taylor Cravillion, and Jenna Jorgensen. The big hit of the inning was Cravillion's three RBI triple. Luxemburg-Casco is now 14-5.
