Westosha Central started slow but scored in each at bat, including four runs in the 5th inning to defeat Waterford 10-0 in 5 innings at Paddock Lake. Olivia Klean (3-0) threw a one-hit shut out for the victory. "Olivia gave us another solid performance on the mound. It was a difficult day to pitch, but she was able to get them to put the ball in play let her fielders make plays behind her." (co-head coach Tom Lampe) The Falcons took the lead two batters into the game. Alyssa Hrncar singled and was plated on an RBI double by Kayla Konwent. They added two more runs in the 2nd. Carrie Weis led off with a single, stole 2nd base and was part of a double steal with Jenna Kontaxis, who walked. Hrncar scored both on a solid single to left. The Falcons big outburst occurred in the 5th. Julia Jester walked and Kayla Kerkman was hit by a pitch. After Jester scored on a wild pitch, Kerkman scored on another Kontaxis hit. Kontaxis and Becca Edwards scored the last two runs on a hard ground single by Chyanne Onstad. Onstad and Hrncar led the offense with three hits apiece. Both also plated 2 runs each. "We did a nice job of adding on the score throughout the game. The team did a good job of getting on them early and then just settling into the game. It was good practice for the back to back days we will face at the end of the season." (co-head coach Tom Lampe) With the win the Falcons improved to 3-1 in the Southern Lakes Conference and 7-1 overall. They return to action on Thursday when they travel to Wilmot to take on their county rivals. First pitch is 4:30.
