Northwestern Girls Varsity Softball opened conference play with a 12-0 win in Chetek last night. Cheyenne Johnson allowed three hits and struck out 9 for her first shutout of the season. The Tiger bats were sluggish early but got hot late as Cheyenne hit a three run homerun in the 6th inning followed by Lexi Janigo who went 3 for 5 with a Grandslam in the top of the 7th inning. Sami Clark went 3 for 5 with two runs scored. MacKenzie Correll was 2 for 2 with two runs scored. Brooklyn , Rose and Tory added singles for a 12 hit total. The Tigers are 1-1 on the season and host Superior tonight in Brule.
