VARSITY: Earlier today, Shawano Softball presented 16 players with varsity jerseys for the 2016 season. SENIORS: Alli Raddant, 2B; Julia Beck, DP; Lauren Roloff, RF. JUNIORS: Saige Henning, 3B; Julia Haarth, CF; Hannah Hein, P/1B; Sarah Petry, 3B/C; Libby Rose Awonohopay, PR/UT; Courtney Rouse, PR/OF. SOPHOMORES: Brandi Gueths, C/1B;Brianna Zook, SS; Erin Cerveny, P/1B; Kristina Wynos, LF. The versatile Petry will start the season at 3B while Henning, a 1st-team all-conference player as a sophomore, recovers from injury. In addition, three freshmen -- Katelyn Hoffman, Emilee Bastar and Bayleigh Laabs -- received both varsity and JV jerseys. They will join the varsity for select non-conference games beginning in mid-April. Shawano opens its 2016 season on Friday, April 1, against D-1 powerhouse Green Bay Preble. Game time is 4:30 PM in Shawano. GO HAWKS!
