Luxemburg-Casco, in its last year in the Bay Conference, clinch the outright championship with an exciting extra inning defeat of West De Pere.  In a scoreless pitching dual between seniors Sara Simonar of Luxemburg-Casco and Amber VanDuyse of West De Pere the Spartans broke through in the bottom of the fifth inning.  After Dana Deterville was hit by a pitch and MacKenzie Ronsman walked Simonar aided her own cause by hitting a two out, three run home run.  LC maintained the 3-0 lead into the top of the seventh when West De Pere answered.  After a pair of walks and two outs the Phantoms Rachel Acevedo hit a RBI single to get within two.  Tia Danforth, who had three hits, followed with a two RBI double to tie the game.  LC was unable to score in the bottom of the seventh as was West De Pere in the top of the eighth.  A key play in the inning was LC center fielder Dana Deterville getting to a base hit quickly and throwing out a Phantom base runner at second for the second out of the inning.  After two quick outs in the bottom of the eighth LC put runners at second and third after a Taylor Cravillion walk and Madysen Thayse single.  The stage was set for LC senior Sarah Kinnard who laced the game and championship winning RBI single down the right field line to score Mariah Tebon from third base.  It was LC's first conference championship since 2011.
