Logan goes 3-0 at Baraboo Event

Beats Columbus in Extra innings, beat Homestead and Beloit Memorial

Baraboo, WI - The LaCrosse Logan Rangers (18-1) number one ranking was on the line here against Columbus (15-3) on Saturday in a pitching duel that would give fans some bonus softball as they battled through extra innings. 
The Rangers jumped out to an early lead after Kadie Weiss singled in the first and Jordyn Kleman sent the first pitch from Columbus' pitcher (Kirchberg)  over the left field fence.  Columbus would battle back in the third to tie it up on on a well executed bunt and a couple of hits.  Logan was tested in the 7th with bases loaded, but a force at home and two strikeouts sent the game into extra innings. The battle continued until the 9th when Logan's Abby Leinfelder single moved the the runner (Int tie breaker rules) to third and and 'Katelyn Felton singled scoring Kleman.  Taylor Shuda hit a sac fly two at bats later to score Leinfelder.  This is all Rangers needed as Kleman struck out the side in the 8th and 9th on her way to a complete game, three hit, 23 strikeout performance. 
 
The Rangers turned around in the second game of a the day against Mequon Homestead (13-4) picking up their 20th win on the season.  Kleman again went to the circle tossing a complete game 4 hitter while walking one.  Wiess and Modjeski added two hits each en route to a 6-1 victory.  Logan scored first in the second inning only to be matched by Homestead in their bottom of their inning.  Logan loaded the bases in the third with no outs but a couple of hard hit outs only plated a single run.  The Rangers added two more in the fourth and seventh. 
 

The final game of the day matched the Rangers against Beloit Memorial (11-8).  Taylor Shuda took the mound for the Rangers against Beloit's Swanson.  Shuda went the distance for the Rangers scattering 9 hits over the seven innings to get the Rangers their 21st notch in the win column. Logan was led by Alycia Larson (3-4), and Modjeski, Felten and Lamers all recorded two hits each. The Rangers scored in each of the first four innings taking an 8-0 lead.  The Purple Knights put one on the board in the 5th, and Shuda had to pitch out of a bases loaded sixth.  Beloit threatened again in the seventh and added two more before a 6-3 ground ball ended the game stranding the runner on second.
