Three home runs to back the five-hit pitching of Mackenzie Dane powered the Chequamegon High School softball team to an 8--1 victory over Hurley on Tuesday, May 12, at the Park Falls Athletic Complex.
Danielle Masterson blasted a two-run homer in the fifth and capped a 3-for-4 night with a grand slam in the sixth. Emily Ernest opened the scoring in the game with a two-run dinger in the third inning. Emily Mader went 3-for-4 on the night with two doubles. Megan Mader had two hits, including a double. Chequamegon had 12 hits on the night, including two by Ernest,who also scored three runs.
Dane walked just one and fanned two.
The Screaming Eagles travel to Marathon for a non-conference game on Thursday.
