Today highlighted by a Jordyn Kleman no-hitter

Thorp takes down Athens 7-3

Hello Fastpitch Fans
It was a great March day for a ball game. Highs in the low 60s or high 50s and sunny.

Logan's Jordyn Kleman, one of the state's top junior pitcher tossed a no-hitter in her team's season opener today vs Arcadia. She fanned 15.

So Rule 6 indicates that a pitcher must step on the pitcher’s plate with her hands separated. It does not matter whether the ball is in her pitching hand or hidden deep within the pocket of her glove. The hands just simply need to be separated at that point. If she puts the ball in her glove and has her pitching hand in there as well when she steps on that slab of rubber she’s just violated that part of Rule 6 and it’s automatically an illegal pitch.
