Hurricanes win Blazer Tournament

The Waukesha Hurricanes 18u SP team competed for the Championship in the 2014 Blazers Blast tournament on 6/15. The game was a see saw battle from the start. It was 1-1 after 2 innings in the bottom of the 3rd the Blazers gained a lead on 2 run homer for 3-1 advantage. In the bottom of the inning Ali Binder evened it out with her own 2 run shot. it was short game (Blazers)vs power (Hurricanes) the teams traded runs with Lindsey Semler and Amanda Ranchau getting big RBI's when needed until regulation was hit at the end of 6 innings 8-8.  (special tournament rule 6 innings max)
 
The extra frame saw Amanda Ranchau start at 2nd battling her asthma all day, with Kelly Kotney at the plate who drops a nice bunt to reach with the Blazers holding the runners Kelly advances to 2nd due the Blazers holding the runner on 3rd ,Cori Semelr strikes out gets us two 2 outs then Katie Wasieleski comes through again to drive in 2 runs to gain the advantage to 10-8. In the bottom of the frame the Blazers Taylor Bush flies out to RF for the second out the game ended on long fly ball hit to CF tracked down at the fence by Katie Wasielewski for the game winning out. Final score 10-8 Hurrianes 18u SP..
