Great pitching leads FVL Foxes past Madison West 4-0

Olivia Eichhorst (junior) hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Olivia tossed a shutout to carry FVL Foxes to a 4-0 victory over Madison West at Poynette Jamboree in seven innings.

Olivia struck out 10 hitters en route to the FVL Foxes win. FVL Foxes' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

 

It was a good day at the plate for FVL Foxes' Vanessa Buman. Vanessa went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the second inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

 

F Statz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

The game's last lead went to FVL Foxes thanks to a second inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an RBI double by Miranda Skarban and an RBI triple by Kahlee Hacker.

FVL Foxes got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fifth. In the third, FVL Foxes scored on an RBI double by Olivia, plating Abby Radue.

 

Saturday Game One:  G-E-T's seventh inning charge helps upend FVL Foxes, 6-5

G-E-T took the lead in the seventh inning, and FVL Foxes was unable to muster a comeback, losing 6-5 in seven innings on Saturday at Poynette Jamboree.

 

Brittany Vils got on base three times in the game for FVL Foxes. She scored one run and had one RBI. She tripled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

 

Konor Auer got the win for G-E-T. She allowed three runs over three innings. She struck out none, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Megan HoppeAbbie Gunderson and Madison Doerr helped lead G-E-T. They combined for six hits and two RBIs.

Samantha Birling (freshman pitcher) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed six runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out four.

G-E-T jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Abby Bishop singled to start things off before Abbie singled. The scoreboard lit up again for G-E-T when Hoppe scored on an error.

G-E-T got two-run rallies in the second inning and the Seventh. In the second, G-E-T scored on an RBI double by Abbie, plating Taylor DuffenBack.

After a quick strike from G-E-T, FVL Foxes responded with two runs in the second. FVL Foxes scored on a two-run double by Sara Riehle.

FVL Foxes scored one run in each of the third, fifth and seventh. In the third, FVL Foxes scored on an RBI triple by Brittany, scoring Abby Radue.

G-E-T went up for good in the seventh, scoring two runs on An RBI double by Madison and an RBI single by #24.

 

Friday night in Arlington:  FVL Foxes falls to Deforest 6-3 in spite of Sara Riehle's performance

Sara Riehle did all she could to give FVL Foxes a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Deforest, as FVL Foxes lost 6-3 in seven innings at Poynette Jamboree on Friday.

Sara racked up two RBIs on two hits for FVL Foxes. She singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Lydia Schuchardt got the win for Deforest. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Lydia struck out one, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Deforest was sparked by Morgan Harbort and Kelsey Felicijan, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

Olivia Eichhorst was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out eight.

Deforest jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Kayla Gothstarted the rally for Deforest with a single. Lauren Olson doubled, bringing home Kayla.

Deforest never trailed after scoring three runs in the third on a three-run home run by Morgan.

Two FVL Foxes runs crossed the plate in the top half of the sixth, making the score 4-3. A two-run double by Sara sparked FVL Foxes' rally. Aimee Ashmanflew out to end the FVL Foxes threat.

Deforest survived FVL Foxes' surge and put up two runs of its own in the sixth. Deforest scored on a two-run error.

 

Thursday night:  FVL Foxes take out Xavier with help from Vanessa Buman, 8-4

Vanessa Buman knocked in three runs as FVL Foxes took home an 8-4 victory over Xavier in seven innings at FVL on Thursday.

She doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Olivia Eichhorst recorded the win for FVL Foxes. She allowed four runs over seven innings. Olivia struck out six, walked seven and gave up eight hits.

Erin Powers was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out six.

FVL Foxes went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on an RBI double byBrittany Vils.

One run in the bottom of the second helped Xavier close its deficit to 3-1. A walk by Erin triggered Xavier's comeback. The Xavier threat came to an end when Olivia finally got Kara Sagan to.

After posting one run in the third, FVL Foxes again scored one in the fourth. In the third, FVL Foxes scored on an RBI double by Vanessa, scoring Olivia.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Xavier faced just a 5-3 deficit. A two-run single by Mirium Hurula sparked Xavier's rally. But, Olivia gotLauren Ashauer to to end the inning.

One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Xavier close its deficit to 5-4. An RBI single by Torey Gostas fueled Xavier's comeback. Finally, Olivia got Erin to fly out to end the threat.

FVL Foxes tacked on another three runs in the seventh. Vanessa singled, scoring Darsity Birling and Abby Radue to start the inning. That was followed up with a steal of home by Brittany.
