These two LaCrosse public schools went at it today with Logan emerging as the victory and evening the season series at a game apiece. 

 

Winneconne takes two from Clintonivlle
Annika Gereau collected three hits, helping Winneconne Wolves Varsity to a 7-4 victory over Clintonville on Thursday at Varsity Softball Diamond.

She singled in the third, fifth, and sixth innings. Annika got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over seven innings. She struck out two, walked four and surrendered 10 hits. Laura Lukoski was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed seven runs in six innings, walked one and struck out six.

In the top of the third, Clintonville grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Clintonville caught fire after Samanna Dey doubled. Then Emma Polzin singled, plating Samanna.

The game's last lead went to Winneconne Wolves Varsity thanks to a third inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on an RBI double by Theresa Cosmutto, two singles, and.

Two runs in the top of the sixth helped Clintonville close its deficit to 5-4. A two-run single by Samanna triggered Clintonville's comeback. The Clintonville threat came to an end when Annika finally got Laura to fly out.

It didn't take long for Winneconne Wolves Varsity to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the sixth. Winneconne Wolves Varsity scored on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Kylee Whitford.

Game #2

Winneconne Wolves Varsity refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Clintonville, recording a 12-1 victory on Thursday at Clintonville High School.

The game was decided quickly as Winneconne Wolves Varsity exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.

An error and an RBI single by Larissa Russell in the first inning and an error, an RBI single by Annika Gereau, and a two-run single by Theresa Cosmutto during the second inning fueled Winneconne Wolves Varsity's offense early.

Annika racked up three RBIs on three hits for Winneconne Wolves Varsity.

Larissa handled Clintonville's lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Larissa allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks over five innings.

Lakeside Lutheran beat Luther Prep 7-6 with a run in the bottom of the seventh

Poynette 10, Lodi 1
The Pumas once again rode the stellar work in the circle by junior Jordan Blochwitz as she scattered three hits, fanned seven and walked two. Senior all state infielder McKenna hit her third automatic home run of the season in the second inning, a towering shot over the flag pole in leftcenter. Riley Barnharst went 2x2 with a double while Allison Gorman and Amber Peck each doubled and Samantha Lenius tripled. For Lodi Hailey Hellenbrand had a double. Madison Waterstradt took the loss for the Blue Devils.

Marshall 10, Waterloo 5
The Cardinals claimed a must win tonight over their arch rival. Trailing the Capitol South standings by a game Marshall needed a win to knot things atop the divisional standings. 

Shawano sweeps Seymour

At Shawano, LaRissa O’Kimosh had five hits and Courtney Baumann earned both pitching victories as the Hawks defeated Seymour 7-6 and 12-2. Julia Beck, Nicki Ainsworth, Brianna Laabs and Baumann each added three hits for Shawano, 4-2 in the Bay Conference and 4-4 overall.
