Let's Play Two!

Hello Again Fastpitch Folks,

Easter Weekend seldom features many games if any. Today there were some in Kenosha County though. Westosha Central and Wilmot hosted the Western Kenosha County Invitational. You can read about Westosha Central's games in a separate report on this site tonight.

Other scores from that event were:
SPASH beat Menomonee Fals 9-3
Wilmot beat Catholic Central 6-2
Beaver Dam beat Menomonee Falls 8-4
Wilmot beat Beaver Dam 3-0
Menomonee Falls beat Catholic Central 6-1
Zion-Benton beat Catholic Central 5-3
Racine Case beat Beaver Dam 8-6

There was also an event in Sun Prairie today
In Sun Praire
Baraboo beat Tomah 10-1
Kaukauna beat Sun Prairie 10-0
Baraboo beat Sun Prairie 12-6
Sun Prairie beat Tomah 6-5
Kaukauna beat Baraboo 10-0

The other night Parkview beat Beloit Turner in a doubleheader in the Rock Valley Conference. I had mentioned that Turner's pitcher Kelsie Packard was on a family trip. I failed to mention, in the report that Parkview too was missing players. Their first sacker and their designated player were both gone and they still beat a very good pitcher from Turner twice to steal the twinbill. Last year Parkview gave Turner two good games losing 10-5 and 3-2 in 11 innings. Parkview got off to slow start his year but the twinbill takedown of Turner could get them rolling this season.

Things will really start heating up in conference races this week where games are able to be played. I haven't gotten a report in the past couple of days from our brethren to the north.

The scores from Sun Prairie and Western Kenosha County today should interest the Fastpitch Chronicle rankers. Some things real shook out in those two places today.

The Poynette Fastpitch Jamboree time schedule is posted on www.fastpitchchronicle.com/jamboree14.htm but the teams playing in those games at those times on those fields has not been determined yet. I'll get a good start on that process on Easter Sunday as two fellas with a lot of scheduling experience will be on hand here to help me out. Keep watching that site for a tentative schedule to be posted.

I have my fingers crossed in hopes that everyone who requested games in on the master list.

The newly refurbished Diamond of Champions at Poynette High School is completed. Three of us put in 10 1/2 hours today getting things finished with the new concession stand/storage room/second floor media center-museum. We hung drywall today, built counters in the upstairs room, built a countertop for the popcorn popper and I did a lot of actual field work. Next week the finishing touches to the field will take place.

The Fastpitch Chronicle Week 3 rankings will be posted Sunday night or Monday morning. Rankers are reminded to get their lists to me tomorrow evening.

Have a great Sunday!

Keep it Rising!

Bob
