Winneconne coach Tim Whitford closing in on 300 victories

Winneconne:

Head Coach: Tim Whitford

Years Coaching: Starting 22nd

Overall record: 286-172 overall  8-8 EVC Conference 4th Place.

Returning Letter winners: MJ Behm  1st Team All Conference Outfield (our for senior season due to ACL tear in basketball), P; Annika Gereau (Soph.), C; Hannah Peerenboom (Soph.) 2nd Team All Conference, SS, Riley Kies (Soph), Sam Olson (Soph).

Varsity prospects: IF, Theresa Cosmutto (Frosh), C, IF,OF Kylee Whitford (Frosh), OF/IF, Leah Hoffmann, (Frosh),  OF Taylor Wilke  (Soph.), P, Larissa Russell (Frosh).

Winneconne some key players from last year’s squad. 4 Year All- EVC Infielder, Abby King. She was unanimous 1st Team all conference last year as well as all district. Other key players were pitcher Mikala Russell, second baseman Morgan Herbst and Outfielder Carly Volp.

Winneconne will be very young, but they have a very talented group of underclassmen. The loss of Senior outfielder MJ Behm is a big one, but it will just mean that one of the young kids will have to step up. Annika Gereau had a lot of varsity innings in the circle last year and battery mate Hannah Peerenboom caught the majority of games. That should be a strength. We look to be competitive this year and compete for a in the top half of the conference.

Little Chute:

Head Coach: Angie Long

Years at School: 7 (2nd as Head Coach)

Little Chute will return all but 2 players from the 2013 season. We will have a very experienced team, as we will carry 7 seniors, 5 of which are returning starters. Key players returning are 4 year Varsity Starting center fielder, Aly Sanders (Sr), who was 1st Team All Conference, 1st Team All District and 3rd Team All State,  Alaina Schepp (Jr  IF-2nd Team All Conference), Morgan LeNoble (Sr P/IF), Deanna Guhl (Sr  IF), Tori Landsverk (Sr  C), Sara Huven (Sr  IF), Claire Hietpas (Soph OF), Kendra Huray (Soph OF) and Lindsey Clark (Soph OF).  In addition, Little Chute has some very talented younger players making their way up to Varsity this year.

In the 2013 season, Little Chute made another late run in the tournament, making it to the Regional Championship game, where we lost to #1 seed New London.  This year we look to build on that momentum to start the season strong and be consistent through conference play.

Fox Valley Lutheran:

 Head Coach: Julie Detjen

Year at FVL: 3rd

Fox Valley Lutheran finished in 6th place in the EVC.  They had a 7-7 record. They were without Pitcher Olivia Eichorst for much of the season. If Eichorst  has healed up and returns to from, FVL will be a very strong team.  They did lose some key contributors in 1st Team IF Kady Zamzow and Abby Huntington and   Emilie Thern.

They do return Catcher Darsity Birilig, OF Abby Radue and Vanessa Buman.

FVL will put a good team on the field.

Freedom:

Head Coach: Nona Danforth

Years at School: 1st

Freedoms graduated  Pitcher Hannah Doxtator,  OF Rachel Vircks, IF Jessica Runge and Utility player Brittnay Theobald and Head Coach Kerry Danforth left to take a coaching position with UWGB Softball program.

Freedoms has a long history of success, and are defending conference champions. This will be their 3rd coach in as many years, but look for Freedom once again to be a solid team.

Clintonville:

Head Coach: Ronessa Stampfli

Years at School: 3rd

Clintonville is rebuilding with Head Coach Ronessa Stampfli and will be a very young squad.

Berlin:

Head Coach: Dave Polakowski

Years at School: 2nd

Berlin lost a solid group of seniors and will need to find some pitching to compete for an upper level finish.

Xavier:

Head Coach: Lori England

Years at School:

Xavier returns 2nd team all-EVC Pitcher Erin Powers and Player of the Year SS Anna Loken.

Xavier has a couple pieces in place, with Powers and Loken, but will need to find some other players to step in and compliment them. Xavier will be considered a contender for the conference title.

They did lose catcher  Michalea Machurick and IF Allie Eaton to graduation.

Ripon:

Head Coach: Jeff Krentz

Years at School:

Ripon finished in second place behind Freedom last season. They did lose 6 all conference players to graduation.  1st Team Caitlin Dolata, OF Brooke Brewer,  2nd team IF Jordan Krentz, IF Alyssa Lind and OF Kaitlin Splittburger and 3rd team IF Kayla Putzer.

They do return 1st Team All-EVC Pitcher Libby Borgardt. When you have good pitching you have a shot. Coach Krentz has done a great job at Ripon and will put a very competitive team on the field.

Waupaca:

Head Coach: Stephanie Imhoff

1st year as Waupaca Varsity

Returning Letter winners: Jessica Borntrager (Senior), Taylor Ebert (Senior), Brenna Oleson (Sophomore), Christina Rasmussen (Junior), Lindsey Reach (Senior), Bobbie Sue Sell (Junior), Natasha Smith (Senior), 3rd Team All Conference Mandy Tomlinson (Junior).

Waupaca is returning eight letter winners from last year, but with the loss of Emerie Vasquez on the mound, Waupaca will be looking for someone to step into that position. With the returning experience, in both the infield and outfield, Waupaca has the potential to be in the top half of the conference.
