Austin, MN Twister tournament – June 15-16

The La Crosse Central girls were still stinging from their 2-1 Sectional Loss to Sun Prairie when they headed over to Austin, MN for the 4th Annual Twister tournament on June 15th and 16th; and were also figuring out how to replace the 4 seniors that would not be playing with them again in a Red Raider uniform. The girls had a tough first game vs their friends from Rochester John Marshall in losing to the Rochester Hurricanes 4-1; they then rebounded with 3 wins; 10-0 over Paynesville, MN; 10-0 over Chippewa Valley, WI XPlosion and 11-3 over Faribault, MN. They then met the Rochester Hurricanes again in the championship and ground out a great 2-1 win to win it all. The theme of Father’s Day Sunday was “SPAM”; with all of the girls sporting SPAM tattoos from their trip to the SPAM museum on Saturday. The team has 9 soon to be Seniors and 4 juniors.

La Crosse Stars of Tomorrow tournament – June 21-23

The Red Raiders started out the tournament with 3 wins; 12-2 over DeSoto; 12-1 over Pepin; 11-1 over Onalaska; before moving on to Championship Sunday and beating DeSoto again 12-2 and Onalaska again in the championship game 9-1 to win it all. The team is not in action again until July 20-21 when they travel to the Chippewa Valley Flash tournament in Chippewa Falls, WI.

The team is led by returning Varsity players; Brooke Baldwin, Brittany Baldwin, Kelsey Rox, Erin Ramsey and Kaitlyn Roesch; who double their time with the Wisconsin Renegade 18U team. The Renegade team is in action June 28-30 at the Eau Claire Fury tournament, July 11-14 at the ASA B State tournament in Wausau and August 1-4 at the ASA B Northern Nationals in Rochester, MN.
