Parkview defeated Cuba City in a regional semi-final to night in Orfordville 8-0.Rachel Heffel pitched a complete game shut-out allowing 3 base hits.

At Shawano, the Hawks scored five in the sixth inning to break open a close game. Whitney Boda’s two-run, bases-loaded single was the key hit. Shawano scored three additional runs on West De Pere throwing errors. Courtney Baumann earned the victory for Shawano, 15-6 overall, scattering seven hits. West De Pere stranded three runners in scoring position; Shawano stranded seven. Amber Van Duyse took the loss, allowing five hits, two walks and striking out two.

Freshman Andi Terpstra hit a walk off single to end the game as Morgyn Steinke scored the game-ending run from 3rd base!

Poynette 2, Wisconsin Heights 0
Senior righthander Alexa Peters allowed just two hits en route to a 2-0 victory in Poynette today. Peters fanned eight Vanguards and issued just one base on balls. Centerfielder Jenna Sandstrom made several impressive, running catched on balls that would have ordinarily resulted in Vanguard hits and eventually runs.

Poynette plated both runs in the fourth innning after one out. Sophomore shortstop Shelby Wheeler drew a base on balls and stole second base. Junior rightfielder Samantha Lenius then hit a 3-2 pitch to left which sent Wheeler sprinting home for the game's first run and Lenius had a stand-up double. Junior first sacker, Kelsey Saager then lined a single up the middle that plated Lenius for the game's second and final run. Saager had two hits to pace the Pumas who now face Waterloo for the fourth consecutive year in the regional final. The game will be at Waterloo.

Madison Lafollette beat Madison West in the first round of the Division 1 sectional tournament by the score of 7-1. Lafollette was led by pitcher Nicole Newman's 20 strikeout effort against the Regents of Madison West. This was Newman's third game of 20 strikeouts this season. Newman now has 296 strikeouts for the season in 136.2 innings pitched. She is averaging over 15 strikeouts per every 7 innings pitched this season. West scored their lone unearned run when Lafollette sophomore catcher Amy Lanzendorf dropped a third strike and hit the Regent batter in the helmet as she was running to first allowing a run to score from second base on the play. Lafollette was led offensively by lead off batter, junior left fielder Anna Seelow who was 4 for 5 at the play with 2 doubles. Senior center fielder Ari Sweeney also was hot at the plate with 3 hits in 4 at bats. Catcher Amy Lanzendorf made up for her error with 4 RBI on the night.

Chequamegon 6, Cameron 0
The 10th-ranked Chequamegon High School Softball Team won it's WIAA Tournament opener on Tuesday at the Park Falls Athletic Complex, blanking Cameron 6-0.

Brianna Mader notched the win in the circle, tossing five innings and fanning five. Megan Mader finished up, with two punchouts in two innings. They teamed for a six-hitter with no walks.

Chequamegon rapped 13 hits in the game, including two each by Michelle Lobermeier, Jamie Palecek, Kristen Pechacek, Megan Mader, Hannah Gruber, and Morgan Hilgart. Pechacek and Hilgart scored two runs each.

The Screaming Eagles will host Hurley at 5 p.m. Thursday in the regional championship game.

Samantha Olson went 2X4 with 4 RBI's and Micheala Vinz pitched her 17th one hitter in the last two seasons as the Rockets advance to the Regional Championship.
