It was the conference opener tonight int he Dunn-ST. Croix due to the way things have been restructured. All conference games will be 5 inning double headers held on the same night.....Thought that everybody played well tonight all around. Got to get the Sophomore lefty in to get an inning's worth of throwing tonight......Thought that Emily did a nice job in her varsity debut......She was a little nervous but came around nice and finished the game for us......I'm not a big fan of these double header 5 inning games.......To much at stake in the conference to settle these games in 5 innings! Everybody is playing by the same rules though and I guess that it is what it is! (I still dont like it)......Off to a good start.....Need to keep it going in the right direction Thursday against a good Boyceville team!

Marshall 10, Poynette 0
Marshall's Hailee Frey scattered two hits in a 10-0 win over Poynette in Marshall today. The Cardinals collected seven his off two Poynette pitchers who were plagued by errors that led to seven unearned runs and perhaps, as is many times the case, even the earned runs. No matter, the Pumas could only get one runner past second base in the game. The leading hitters for Marshall were Alex Ritzema Ally Utz who were both 2x3. Ritzema and Frey both doubled in the game for Marshall.
