I was mistaken!
Hey it isn't the first time and surely won't be the last. I just keep trying.
Although there were games played today (Southwestern and Boscobel) and maybe some others they were not the first ones of the season outside in Wisconsin. Boscobel and Fennimore played on Tuesday the 2nd with Boscobel winning 14-0. Today Boscobel beat Southwestern 7-1 for their second win of the season. Reports from there indicate that Boscobel has things going early along the banks of the Wisconsin River. Shoreland Lutheran downed Heritage Christian 19-10 as Celeste Carroll had four hits for the winners. Ashley Eimers had four rbi and pitcher Cindy Schuelke fanned eight. Both Carroll and Eimers received Fastpitch Chronicle Award Certificates for their performances.
Ripon took down Laconia 8-3 but no details were available tonight.
DeForest was in Poynette today for a scrimmage with both varsity and JV teams taking part. That went well. Katie Klein, junior righthander for DeForest looked impressive in that scrimmage. She had three hits including a double and triple. On the Poynette side Brittany Falk had a double while Kelsey Saager singled as did Jordan Blochwitz, Jaime Janssen. Allison Gorman of Poynette had a superb day in the field at third base.
There are numerous games on the docket tomorrow (Friday).
