Fastpitch Bulletin

And they were playing winter fastpitch today!

It wasn't really fastpitch weather anywhere in Wisconsin today but's what new this spring right? In Poynette there were games being played at Diamonds of Champions. Columbus took on Poynette in a Capitol North makeup game which Poynette won 5-0 while Waterloo beat Rice Lake. The second round winner was darkness on both diamonds.

Here is a situation for you to figure out. In the top of the first inning - Player #3 bats to lead off the game and doubles. She moves to third base on a sacrifice bunt by player #16. After the sacrifice bunt play is over Team B's scorekeeper points out that #3 batted in the leadoff spot but is actually listed as the third batter on her official lineup card she was given. According to the official lineup card Player #3 is due to bat now but she's standing safe at third. Team B appeals batting out of order after the second batter in the order was put out. Here's my question for you. Now What?

Correct Ruling to be published in Next Bulletin!

There were some hard hit balls in Poynette today even with it being as cold as it was. There was some good pitching too despite the cold. The Beach Boys may have loved those California girls but I'll take the Wisconsin kids any day. Today proved that any day is a "Great Day for Fastpitch!" Headbands, hooded sweatshirts, jackets, pocket hand warmers and all, the Wisconsin girls just tough it out! They just want to play ball!

Holy Cow! The weather forecast for this part of the state on Monday is for 57 degrees Fahrenheit. It's a heat wave coming in. Get out the sun tan lotion and sun screen.! Get some games played. There will be new grass on the field!

There were other teams playing today as well - Parkview swept Clinton in a twinbill. Milton froze out Lake Geneva Badger while Milwaukee King and Dominican split a doubleheader.

It's late!

Keep it Rising!
Bob
