Fastpitch Bulletin

And there's new grass on the field!

It's turning green here but it's mostly weeds as a result of the 2012 drought and not being able to be watered. Those weeds are green though. The rain has caused soggy conditions just about everyone and is forcing teams to find alternate venues to play games. Stevens Point and Merrill played in Portage today. Thorp, Strafford, Park Falls and perhaps one other school will most likely be playing in Poynette on Saturday. I think we will call it the "Northern Jamboree in the Southern Part of the State."

The forecast calls for -- aw shucks I'm not even going to go there!

Some coaches are sending in their own game summaries. They can be found on the summaries page of this website. Check them out and think about sending some in yourself. There are people who thirst and hunger for information. Keep them well fed and hydrated by typing up some summaries.

Duke from Milwaukee Rufus King forwarded some names and numbers to be added to the State Softball Records page I've started here at the Chronicle. Some of those numbers are going to be pretty tough to beat. They are what they are though! Send in numbers and names of kids from your programs who might be on the list of top performers in the categories I have posted on that page.

At Goodman Diamond today in a twinbill between the state's two Division 1 softball schools UW-Green Bay and Uw-Madison split. You can read the recap by clicking here.

We're getting closer and closer to when we will launch the new Fastpitch Chronicle dot net site that will be partnered with wissports.net. All the content on www.fastpitchchronicle.net will be free, no subscriptions required. The statistical aspect of things will remain on wissports.net along with all the scores, standings etc. as well as some feature articles by Norbert Durst. I'll be doing some cross-over articles as well.

It's late!
Keep it Rising!
Bob
