Notes on the state tournament

Rice Lake, Baldwin-Woodville, Oakfield, Burlington Catholic Central, Thorp, Belmont, Bonduel, Pacelli, Poynette, Kenosha St. Joseph, Altoona, Southern Door, Plymouth , Cudahy, Marshall, Eau Claire North, Oconomowoc, Westosha Central, Union Grove, Muskego and Sun Prairie all have one thing in common.

Those schools were among the 48 Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4 schools that played in the sectional semi-finals today alogn with five of the 32 Division 1 sectional teams that all had one thing in common during the current season.

They all were part of the 2012 Poynette Fastpitch Jamboree. On Thursday Baldwin-Woodville and Rice Lake will square off in a sectional final while Oakfield and Burlington Catholic Central will do the same. The Jamboree continues to feature those kinds of team each year the first weekend of May.

There are openings for next year's Jamboree so interested schools should contact us in Poynette soon to secure a spot in next year's event.

The sectionals finals are really shaping up differently than many predicted they would -- including me.

Take a look at the Division 1 results from today.

Kenosha Tremper upended Kenosha Bradford and Westosha Central took down #1 ranked Wilmot. Drummond ended Shell Lake's run to Goodman Diamond today.

Have a great day!
Bob
