Nekoosa 1 at Iola-Scandinavia 8
The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Nekoosa, 8-1, in a non-conference game. The win improves the Thunderbirds record to 3-2 while Papermakers drop to 1-2.
After Nekoosa tied the game 1-1 in the top of the third inning, Iola-Scandinavia scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning and added two more runs in the fourth inning for the final 8-1 score.
Junior pitcher Rayanne Clendenning went the distance to earn the win for the T-Birds. Clendenning allowed only four hits, no walks while striking out 13 batters.
Offensively, the Thunderbirds outhit the Papermakers, 11-4. Ava Printz had three hits while Brylee Jueds and Maya Munoz each had two hits. Jueds drove in two runs and Munoz drove in four runs.
