Iola-Scandinavia beat Marion, 14-3, in a non-conference game on Thursday, April 10. The Thunderbirds had a 4-1 lead after three innings, but the T-Birds broke the close game open with a five-run fourth inning and added five more runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The game was called after the sixth inning due to the ten-run rule. Iola-Scandinavia improved their overall record to 2-2. Marion's overall record is 0-2.
The Thunderbirds edged the Mustangs in the hit column, 9-8. Junior Natalie Schwirtz had two hits including a two-run triple in the fifth inning.
Sophomore pitcher Charlotte Isermann pitched all six innings to earn the win for the T-Birds. Isermann allowed one walk while striking out six batters.
