The Spartans jumped to leads of 3-0 and 4-1 early but managed just two hits over the final 5 innings.
Mackenzie Rolf had a single and double and drove in a run in each of the first two innings and Stella Ovalle was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Morgan Stortz had an RBI single.
Ovalle worked 4-1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs. Maiya Tearney finished up, working out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth, which ended in a double play fly out and throw to the plate by centerfielder Rolf.
The Spartans (0-2) are scheduled to play at Menomonee Falls on Monday, April 7.
