A three-run home run by Grace Swiezynski proved to be the difference as Muskego defeated Westosha Central 4-3 in the sectional semifinal.
Kyleigh Sadler earned the complete game win, allowing 3 runs ( 1 earned) on 4 hits while striking out 7. Meghan Lampos took the loss allowing 4 runs on three hits and striking out 6.
The Falcons struck first in the 3rd inning. With one out Mykenna Sturino singled and reached 2nd on a sac bunt by Lila McNeill. Maya Gagliardi was hit by a pitch. Then Lampos hit a single scoring Sturino. An error on the play allowed Gagliardi to score and Lampos also scored on another error. But the Warriors responded in their half of the 3rd. With one out Autumn Sadler walked and Cici Carpio singled. Samantha Brunner's fielder's choice loaded the bases. Kyleigh Sadler scored her sister on a sac fly. Then Swiezynski hit her homer to center.
"At this level it generally comes down to one or two plays," said Westosha CentralCo-head coach Tom Lmape "They made the plays they needed to win. We did a lot of good things. We just needed to finish when we had the chance."
With the loss, the Falcons end their season 19-5. Muskego will move on to play Kenosha Bradford in the sectional final at Oak Creek.
