Lila McNeill's single in the bottom of the 7th scored Mia Kozak with the walk off run as Westosha Central defeated Beloit Memorial 3-2 in Paddock Lake.
Meghan Lampos earned the win in relief of Sam Erber. In the process, Lampos recorded her 500th strike out of her career. The Falcons scored their first run in the 2nd inning. Alex McKinney led off and reached by error. She scored on a triple by Emma Smith.
Westosha Central added another run in the 3rd. McNeill led off with a double and scored on a single by Maya Gagliardi. The Purple Knights evened the score in their half of the 6th. Jasmine Smith and Allie Gustafson led off with singles. Smith scored on a ground out by Chesney Bishop. Gustafson scored when Brooklyn Hereford-Foster singled to center.
The game stayed tied until McNeill's single in the bottom of the 7th. "Sam did enough in the circle to earn the win but that's what happens at times," said Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe. "We got the key hit when we needed to but there is still improvement to be had on offense."
With the win, the Falcons completed their SLC season with a 13-1 record, which earned them the conference championship. They are 17-2 overall. They will conclude their regular season this Saturday when they travel to Kaukauna to take on the Ghosts and Kenosha Bradford.
