Amherst 13, at Iola-Scandinavia 7
Amherst scored 10 runs in the second inning and coasted to an easy, 13-7, victory over Iola-Scandinavia in a CWC-East game. The loss drops the Thunderbirds conference record to 9-3 and their overall record to 10-7. The Falcons improved their conference record to 7-4 and 9-6 overall.
Amherst outhit the T-Birds 17-7. Brylee Jueds had three hits for Iola-Scandinavia including a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Starting pitcher Julia Munoz pitched five innings in taking the loss. Munoz allowed two walks while striking out six batters. Again, the T-Bird defense struggled to make plays and also committed three errors in the game. Rayanne Clendenning pitched the final two innings allowing no hits, one walk and had one strikeout.
