Westosha Central used solid pitching and key hitting to win the Cedarburg Bulldog Spring Classic.

In the first game the Falcons scored early and held on to defeat Kenosha Indian Trail 3-2.  Meghan Lampos earned the win pitching all 7innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 11.  The Falcons opened the scoring in the 1st.  Lila McNeill singled, stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on a single by Maya Gagliardi.  She scored on a sac fly by Lampos.  Westosha Centra added to their lead in the 3rd.  Gagliardi opened the frame with a single, moved to 2nd on a Lampos walk, advanced on a passed ball and scored on a Sac Fly by Sam Erber.  Alex McKinney scored Lampos on a Sac fly.

That's where the score remained until the Hawk's 6th.  With one out Claire Giese reached on an error.  Morgan Calhoun reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a two-run Home Run by Alona Boydston.  But that was all that Lampos would surrender.  She put the Hawks down for the rest of the game.

In game two, the Falcons used a steady offense, solid pitching and defense to defeat Cedarburg 7-0 in the championship game.  Sam Erber earned the win in relief of Lampos, going 4 innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out a batter.  The Falcons opened the scoring in the 3rd.  With two out Mykenna Sturino doubled.  She scored on a single by Lila McNeill.  Westosha Central came back in the 4th.  Erber singled.  Her courtesy runner Maya Swanson stole second.  Reached 3rd on a fielder's choice by Jaeda Zackery and scored on a wild pitch.  Zackery scored on a double by Cadence Castillo.  The Falcons brought the lead into the 6th where they plated 4 more runs.  Addie Feekes led off with a walk.  She scored on a two-out single by Emma Smith.  Smith and Castillo scored on a triple by Sturino and she scored on a McNeill single. From there, Erber set the side down in order and weather caused the game to end at that point.

Co-Head Coach Tom Lampe had these comments following the title game, "We had to work in the first game but Meg did a great job of keeping things in check.  It was weird to score all three runs on sacrifice flies but we did a good job of taking advantage of our opportunities.  In game two we played a complete game.  Our defense was solid.  We had timely hitting and Meg and Sam both came up big when they had to in the circle.  We had a very good weekend."

With the wins, the Falcons are 8-1 in the SLC and 12-2 overall.  They return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Wilmot to face their county rival in an Southern Lakes Conference game.
