The Iola-Scandinavia softball team behind a strong pitching performance by Julia Munoz beat Menominee Indian, 10-0, in a CWC-East game in five innings. Munoz allowed only three hits, two walks and had 14 strikeouts in the shutout win. The Thunderbirds are 9-1 in conference and 10-5 overall.
The T-Birds scored one run in the third inning and finally broke the, 1-0, game open in the fifth inning with nine runs and the final 10-0 score. Brooklyn Berrens had four hits including two triples and drove in two runs. Abby Isermann and Maya Munoz each had two hits. Myah Heschke and Ava Printz each had a double.
