Final Score was 5-3

Shoreland took advantage of 7 hits and 5 walks to get a 5-3 non conference victory over Racine Case Monday in Somers.

The Pacers broke the 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third when Grace Olson tripled home Alyssa Pavlovich for a 1-0 lead. Olson would later score on a first and third play coming home on a dropped throw to 2. In the 5th inning, Olson led off with a base hit followed by a walk. Faith Triplett sacrificed the runners over for the first out. Olson then scored on a wild pitch and Kaliska Klusmeyer singled home the 4th run.  Case broke up the shutout attempt in the top of the 6th. After two straight 1 out singles, Nora Lowney hit an rbi single. Anastaisa Valadez then doubled home 2 more to make the score 4-3. Erin Borchardt was able to pitch the Pacers out of the 6th with a strikeout and a grounder to end the Eagle's threat.  Pavlovich gave the Pacers an insurance run in the top of the 6th with a sky high bomb over the center field fence to put the Pacers up 5-3. Case would get a lead off single in the top of the 7th but Borchardt got 2 strikeouts and a ground out to end the game.

Here are some comments from Shoreland Lutheran coach Kelly Hill, "To begin the game, I challenged the girls to be focused and they responded. We played a complete game defensively. The last two games we have had great focus on defense. I am very happy to see this progress. Alyssa and Grace just continue to provide offense for us."

Pavlovich was 1-2, HR, 2 runs, 1 rbi, Olson 3-4, triple, 2 runs, 1 rbi and Miley Brooks added 2 hits for the Pacer offense. Borchardt allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, 1 walk with 8 strikeouts in 7 innings for the win. Valadez had 2 hits and 2 rbi to lead the Eagles. Shoreland moved to 6-4 overall while Case is now 0-9 overall. Shoreland plays East Troy Wednesday while the Eagles travel to Kenosha Bradford.
